Organ Vesper, 20 March 2007

On Tuesday, 20 March 2007, I played the so-called Organ Vesper in the Martin-Luther-Kirche in Linz, on their new baroque organ. The Organ Vesper is organised every Tuesday and lasts from 5.15pm till 5.45pm.

Several colleagues, both from RICAM and from RISC, attended the "concert", and honoured me with very positive reactions (although they had quite different favourites in the programme!). For anyone who would like to hear it at all or again, I here give my recording of it in MP3 format. Be sure to use good headphones; these files have more bass than you may think, and it would be a shame if you didn't hear it!

The organ was built by the Bonn-based firm of Rowan West (he himself is Australian), the inspiring vision being a blend of the art of Gottfried Silbermann with some South German features (such as the Viola da Gamba and Unda Maris on the Great).

Please mail me for any questions about the music!

The programme (Christiaan van de Woestijne, organ):

The bells of the Martin-Luther-Kirche were rung before the Vesper started.
